Watching Our Small Businesses Grow

Business is busy at ArtDECL this year. There are only a few offices still available, and those of us filling up the space are working hard, heads down, minds on-task, with an attentive eye on business growth. While our client businesses are growing in different ways, all are achieving or striving quickly towards a shared goal: success.

Ashton Brophy is a multimedia design company with their fingers in many digital pies. Last year, they were awarded funding from Film Victoria for their own game Electroids. Development started a few weeks ago. Within the next month, Ashton Brophy intends to finish up with an iPhone game for a client called Soccer Shootout! They have submitted another design project to Film Victoria for prototype funding – intended for the iPad/iPhone/Android, this project will be in collaboration with a well-known Melbourne-based musician, and will be very cute and lots of fun. Ashton Brophy co-founder Scott is also finishing an online version of a tool called Ketso. Ketso is “a toolkit for creative and effective engagement  It is designed to encourage creative thinking, and to engage people from different backgrounds and experiences, so diverse groups can work together enjoyably and productively.”

Shootstreet, a webseries production company, is currently in the process of editing their black comedy webseries PrisonPals. They are developing a marketing strategy for the project, which will be released later this year. For a trailer of PrisonPals, visit the Shootstreet website. Our resident game developer, Pub Games, has recently received a significant contract for the development of a zombie video game. This has enabled them to employ several workers and work closely with a team of university students who will assist with the programming.  This is big news and a huge development for the company.

Koorie Night Market has finished up with their markets until October. There will be several mini markets through the winter, but they will be using the next few months to focus on planning and development.

ArtDECL’s newest resident, Gary Isaacs, runs an online publishing platform, iZDOT.com. This is a place where readers read and writers publish. People can write, publish, promote and sell their blog, book, recipe, news, magazine, or any other type of writing on iZDOT.com. The platform is up and running, and Gary is in communications with publishers and authors, building site traffic and content.
